an old indian
holding an old eagle feather
is standing on the earth
this mother earth, a long way from home
he has a long way to go
in stillness and in dreaming
today he was singing
an old song, a song that comes up
from his bones
a song that seemed to open up the sky
his old feather looked like a key
being passed through
an ancient door
he was standing there
all alone
