a child takes a bullet in the heart

somewhere today
a mother must make a new start

somewhere today
a dream is forgotten in a restless sleep

somewhere today
the sun falls on an open heart
somewhere singing
singing quietly to the earth
harvesting the sacred silence
to carry on, building heaven
on earth
